Overview
This guide provides step-by-step configuration instructions for iPhone users to ensure SNAPmobile is set up correctly for reliable calling. Following these steps will help prevent issues with ringing, notifications, and call quality.
General Best Practices for iPhone Users
Keep the Application Updated
Users should always keep the SNAPmobile application updated to the latest version available in the Apple App Store.
Application updates may include important fixes for:
Call ringing
Push notifications
Audio quality
Bluetooth behavior
Login stability
Messaging
Compatibility with newer mobile operating systems
Keep the Mobile Operating System Updated
Users should also keep their iPhone operating system updated.
Recommended:
iPhone: Use a supported version of iOS.
Older operating systems may create issues with notifications, background calling, Bluetooth audio, and app stability.
Allow All Required Permissions
SNAPmobile should be allowed to access:
Microphone
Contacts, if contact integration is required
Notifications
Bluetooth, if using Bluetooth audio devices
Cellular data
Background activity, where available
Without these permissions, the app may not ring, may not access audio, or may not work correctly in the background.
Recommended iPhone Settings
Notifications
Go to:
Settings
→ Notifications
→ SNAPmobile
Recommended settings:
Allow Notifications: ON
Lock Screen: ON
Notification Center: ON
Banners: ON
Banner Style: Persistent, if available
Sounds: ON
Badges: ON
Time Sensitive Notifications: ON, if available
This helps ensure that incoming calls and messages are visible when the phone is locked or when the app is running in the background.
Focus Mode / Do Not Disturb
iPhone Focus modes can block incoming call notifications.
Go to:
Settings
→ Focus
Review:
Do Not Disturb
Sleep
Work
Driving
Personal
Recommended:
Allow SNAPmobile notifications in any active Focus mode.
Make sure Focus is not automatically silencing business calls.
Review scheduled Focus modes that may activate during business hours.
If a user reports that calls do not ring at certain times of the day, Focus mode should be checked first.
Microphone Permission
Go to:
Settings
→ Privacy & Security
→ Microphone
→ SNAPmobile
Recommended:
Microphone access: ON
Without microphone access, users may be able to place or answer calls, but the other party may not hear them.
Cellular Data
Go to:
Settings
→ Cellular
→ SNAPmobile
Recommended:
Cellular Data: ON
This allows SNAPmobile to work when the user is not connected to Wi-Fi.
Background App Refresh
Go to:
Settings
→ General
→ Background App Refresh
Recommended:
Background App Refresh: ON
SNAPmobile: ON, if listed
This helps the application stay available when running in the background.
Low Power Mode
Low Power Mode may reduce background activity and affect app behavior.
Go to:
Settings
→ Battery
→ Low Power Mode
Recommended:
Low Power Mode: OFF during business hours, when reliable mobile calling is required.
Bluetooth Devices
For users using Bluetooth headsets, earbuds, or vehicle audio systems:
Recommended:
Pair the Bluetooth device directly with the phone.
Test call audio before relying on it for business calls.
Keep Bluetooth devices charged.
Avoid switching between multiple Bluetooth devices during a call.
If audio routes incorrectly, disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth device.
For best reliability, a quality business-grade headset is recommended.
