Overview
A focused guide on diagnosing and improving audio quality, network stability, and overall call performance.
Use a Strong Network Connection
SNAPmobile depends on a stable internet connection.
Recommended connection quality:
Strong Wi-Fi signal when indoors
Reliable LTE or 5G when away from Wi-Fi
Avoid weak public Wi-Fi networks
Avoid switching between Wi-Fi and cellular during active calls when possible
If users experience poor audio, delay, one-way audio, or dropped calls, the first thing to verify is the quality of the internet connection.
Call Quality Best Practices
Wi-Fi Recommendations
For best performance on Wi-Fi:
Use a strong Wi-Fi signal.
Avoid guest Wi-Fi networks when possible.
Avoid public Wi-Fi for important business calls.
Stay close to the access point when making long calls.
Avoid moving between Wi-Fi access points during a call if the network does not support proper roaming.
Poor Wi-Fi is one of the most common causes of call quality issues.
Cellular Recommendations
When using cellular data:
Use LTE or 5G with strong signal.
Avoid areas with weak reception.
Avoid switching between Wi-Fi and cellular during an active call.
If Wi-Fi is poor, turn off Wi-Fi and use cellular data.
VPN
VPN applications may interfere with voice traffic.
Recommended:
Disable VPN when troubleshooting SNAPmobile issues.
If the company requires VPN, test SNAPmobile with and without VPN to confirm compatibility.
Some VPNs may block or delay voice traffic.
Bluetooth Audio
Bluetooth devices can sometimes cause audio routing issues.
Recommended:
Use a quality headset.
Keep the headset firmware updated, if applicable.
Disconnect unused Bluetooth devices.
Avoid being connected to a vehicle Bluetooth system and headset at the same time.
If audio does not route correctly, switch audio output manually during the call.
Troubleshooting Call Audio Issues
If call audio is poor, check the following:
Is the user on weak Wi-Fi or poor cellular signal?
Is the user using VPN?
Is Bluetooth causing audio routing issues?
Does the issue happen on Wi-Fi, cellular, or both?
Does the issue happen in one location or everywhere?
Does the issue affect all calls or only some calls?
If the other party cannot hear the user, check:
Microphone permission
Bluetooth audio routing
Muted microphone
Headset connection
