SNAPmobile Setup Guide for Androids Users

Prev Next

Overview

This document provides recommended settings and best practices for users running the SNAPmobile application on an Android smart device. Because mobile devices manage battery, notifications, network access, and background applications aggressively, the correct settings are important to ensure reliable ringing, audio quality, and call stability.

General Best Practices for Android Users

Keep the Application Updated

Users should always keep the SNAPmobile application updated to the latest version available in the Google Play Store.

Application updates may include important fixes for:

  • Call ringing

  • Push notifications

  • Audio quality

  • Bluetooth behavior

  • Login stability

  • Messaging

  • Compatibility with newer mobile operating systems

Keep the Mobile Operating System Updated

Users should also keep their Android operating system updated.

Recommended:

  • Android: Use a recent Android version supported by the device manufacturer.

Older operating systems may create issues with notifications, background calling, Bluetooth audio, and app stability.

Allow All Required Permissions

SNAPmobile should be allowed to access:

  • Microphone

  • Contacts, if contact integration is required

  • Notifications

  • Bluetooth, if using Bluetooth audio devices

  • Cellular data

  • Background activity, where available

Without these permissions, the app may not ring, may not access audio, or may not work correctly in the background.

Notifications

Go to:

  • Settings

  • → Apps

  • → SNAPmobile

  • → Notifications

Recommended settings:

  • Allow Notifications: ON

  • Calls: ON

  • Messages: ON

  • Sound: ON

  • Pop-up notifications: ON, if available

  • Lock screen notifications: ON

  • Notification categories: Review and enable all relevant categories

If Android notification categories are available, make sure incoming call notifications are enabled and not set to silent.

Battery Optimization

Android often restricts apps in the background to save battery. This can affect incoming calls.

Go to:

  • Settings

  • → Apps

  • → SNAPmobile

  • → Battery

Recommended:

  • Set battery usage to Unrestricted, Not Optimized, or Allow Background Activity.

  • Do not place SNAPmobile in Sleeping Apps or Deep Sleeping Apps.

  • Disable any manufacturer-specific battery restriction for SNAPmobile.

On Samsung devices, also check:

  • Settings

  • → Battery

  • → Background Usage Limits

Recommended:

  • Remove SNAPmobile from Sleeping Apps.

  • Remove SNAPmobile from Deep Sleeping Apps.

  • Add SNAPmobile to Never Sleeping Apps, if available.

This is one of the most important settings for Android users.

Microphone Permission

Go to:

  • Settings

  • → Apps

  • → SNAPmobile

  • → Permissions

  • → Microphone

Recommended:

  • Microphone: Allow while using the app

Without microphone permission, call audio will not work correctly.

Phone Permission

Go to:

  • Settings

  • → Apps

  • → SNAPmobile

  • → Permissions

  • → Phone

Recommended:

  • Phone permission: Allow, if requested by the app

This may be required for call handling and integration with the device.

Contacts Permission

Go to:

  • Settings

  • → Apps

  • → SNAPmobile

  • → Permissions

  • → Contacts

Recommended:

  • Contacts: Allow, if the user wants to access mobile contacts from SNAPmobile.

If the user does not need contact integration, this can be left disabled.

Mobile Data and Background Data

Go to:

  • Settings

  • → Apps

  • → SNAPmobile

  • → Mobile Data

Recommended:

  • Allow background data usage: ON

  • Allow data usage while Data Saver is on: ON, if available

  • Unrestricted data usage: ON, if available

If mobile data is restricted, SNAPmobile may not receive calls when the user is away from Wi-Fi.

Data Saver

Go to:

  • Settings

  • → Network & Internet

  • → Data Saver

Recommended:

  • Data Saver: OFF during business hours

  • Or: Allow SNAPmobile to use unrestricted data while Data Saver is enabled.

Do Not Disturb

Android Do Not Disturb can silence SNAPmobile notifications.

Go to:

  • Settings

  • → Sound & Vibration

  • → Do Not Disturb

Recommended:

  • Make sure Do Not Disturb is not active during business hours.

  • Allow SNAPmobile notifications as an exception, if available.

  • Review automatic schedules.

App Auto-Start / Background Launch

Some Android manufacturers include additional app management controls. Look for settings such as:

  • Auto-start

  • Background launch

  • App launch management

  • Protected apps

  • Battery manager

  • Adaptive battery

Recommended:

  • Allow SNAPmobile to start automatically.

  • Allow SNAPmobile to run in the background.

  • Disable aggressive battery restrictions for SNAPmobile.

This is especially important on devices from Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, and similar manufacturers.

Final Checklist: Critical Android Settings

  • Notifications enabled (Allow Notifications, Calls, Messages, Sound, Pop-up, Lock screen)

  • Battery optimization disabled for SNAPmobile (Unrestricted, Not Optimized, Allow Background Activity)

  • Mobile data and background data usage: ON
