Introduction

This guide provides our recommended configuration for the Telus T3200M gateway to ensure optimal VoIP performance.

✅ Quick Checklist: Signs Your Telus T3200M Needs VoIP Configuration

If you notice any of the following, this guide is for you:

Symptom

Description

Phone deregistration

Phones show "Not Registered" or lose registration randomly

One-way audio

You can hear the caller, but they can't hear you (or vice versa)

No incoming calls

Phone doesn't ring for incoming calls, but outbound works

Call transfer failures

Parties can't hear each other after transfers


Provider-Specific Requirements

Important: You need to allow traffic from the following IP range through your firewall.

⚙ Option 1: Disable SIP ALG (Recommended)

The Telus T3200M has a dedicated SIP ALG setting that can be disabled through the advanced configuration menu.

Access gateway interface

Open browser to http://192.168.1.254. Log in with your Telus credentials.

Navigate to Advanced Setup

Click on Advanced Setup on the right side of the interface.

Find SIP ALG setting

Look for SIP ALG in the Advanced menu. It may be under Voice Advanced Settings .

Disable SIP ALG

Uncheck or disable the SIP ALG option. Click Apply to save changes.

Reboot gateway

Reboot the T3200M for changes to take effect.


Option 2: Port Bridging Mode (Use Your Own Router)

If you prefer to use your own router for full control, Telus supports Port Bridging on the T3200M.

Note: The T3200M is one of the Telus gateway models that supports bridge mode, along with the T1200H and T2200H

Open browser to http://192.168.1.254. Log in with your Telus credentials.

Click Wireless Setup

Click the Wireless Setup icon in the top row.

Navigate to Advanced Setup

Click Advanced Setup on the right side.

Click Port Bridging

Click on Port Bridging.

Enable Port Bridging

Click Enable on the Port1 Bridge screen, then click Apply.


🔒 If Using Port Bridging + Your Own Router

Add the following access rule to your personal router:
