Rogers Ignite Gateway (XB6/XB7/XB8) Configuration Guide

Introduction

This guide provides our recommended configuration for the Rogers Ignite Gateway (XB6, XB7, and XB8) to ensure optimal VoIP performance.

Rogers currently uses three main gateway models. Your configuration steps depend on which one you have:

XB6	Arris	✅ Can be disabled via Advanced > Options
XB7	Technicolor	❌ Cannot be disabled in firmware
XB8	Technicolor	⚠️ Likely cannot be disabled (assumed same as XB7)

Important: Important: You need to allow traffic from the following IP range through your firewall.

Requirement	Specification
IP Range to Whitelist	`64.26.133.64/27`
Ports to Open	UDP `5060-5061` (SIP) and UDP `10000-20000` (RTP)

The XB6 allows you to disable SIP ALG directly in the web interface.

Step	Action	Details
1	Access gateway interface	Open browser to `10.0.0.1`. Log in with your Rogers credentials.
2	Navigate to Advanced > Options	Find the Advanced section, then Options tab.
3	Disable SIP	Uncheck the SIP box and click Apply.
4	Reboot gateway	Reboot for changes to take effect.

Critical: The XB7 and XB8 do not have a user-accessible option to disable SIP ALG. It is enabled by default with no official way to turn it off.

If you have an XB7 or XB8, you have two options:

Some users have success by configuring their VoIP device with:

Setting	Recommended Value
Local SIP Port	Use a random port between `30000-60000`
SIP Server	Try alternate ports like `6060`

This turns the Rogers gateway into just a modem, letting you use your own router with full VoIP control. Note: This may affect Ignite TV service.

Step	Action	Details
1	Access gateway interface	Open browser to `10.0.0.1`. Log in with your Rogers credentials.
2	Navigate to Bridge Mode	Find Bridge Mode in Advanced settings (location varies by firmware).
3	Enable Bridge Mode	Enable Bridge Mode. Gateway will reboot.
4	Configure your router	Connect your router to the gateway. Configure with standard VoIP settings (SIP ALG off, port forwarding).

Add the following access rule to your personal router:

Note: The /27 notation includes 32 IP addresses ranging from 64.26.133.64 to 64.26.133.95.
